Character limits by platform
Each platform has its own text limit. tenfeeds shows a counter while you type and checks each platform's exact rules before it posts.

| X | 280 characters | Emoji and some languages, like Chinese, Japanese and Korean, count as 2. Links are removed before counting. |
| 3,000 characters | ||

| Threads | 500 characters | Each emoji counts as 2 to 4. Up to 5 links. |
| Bluesky | 300 characters | Most emoji count as 1. |

How tenfeeds helps
- The counter under the caption compares your caption with the shortest limit among the platforms you picked.
- Each account's row shows a count when you're close to or over that platform's limit.
- If only one platform is too tight, give that account a shorter caption in its row.
When the counts don't match
The counter counts each character once. X counts emoji and some letters as 2, and Threads counts each emoji as 2 to 4, so a caption can fit the counter and still be too long there. tenfeeds checks the exact count when you post and tells you which platform is over.
