Post to X with tenfeeds
tenfeeds posts text, images, GIFs and videos to X. Links are left out of X posts for now.
Status: in testing. tenfeeds is testing posting to X. Your Accounts page shows if you can connect it. See Supported platforms.
Connect
In Accounts, pick X and log in on X. tenfeeds asks to see your profile and posts, to post and upload media for you, and to stay connected so you don't have to log in again each time.
Account requirements
- New account? Use it normally for a few days first. X limits new accounts that look automated. See New account? Warm it up first.
What you can post
- Text posts.
- Up to 4 images, or 1 GIF, or 1 video. Not a mix.
tenfeeds posts one post at a time. Threads of several posts aren't available.
Links are left out for now
X charges apps for every post that has a link, so tenfeeds leaves links out of X posts for now. Anything that looks like a web address is removed before posting, and the rest of your caption goes out as written. The X row shows Link removed, and the preview shows the exact text X will get. Links work as usual on the other platforms.
No identical posts on two X accounts
X doesn't allow the same post on more than one account. If you post to two X accounts, give one of them its own caption in its row. tenfeeds won't post until the texts are different.
Settings
X has no extra settings.
Limits
- Text: 280 characters. Emoji and some languages count as 2.
- Images: up to 5 MB each. GIFs: up to 15 MB.
- Videos: MP4 or MOV, 0.5 seconds to 20 minutes.
- Per day: X limits how many posts an account can make each day, and new accounts get less. tenfeeds stops at 50 and waits at least 2 minutes between posts on the same account. See Posting limits.
Common errors
- Matches one posted recently: change the text and try again.
- X thought this post looked automated: change the wording a little and try again in a few hours.
- X has temporarily locked this account: log in at x.com, follow the steps to unlock it, then tap Retry.
- X has suspended this account: log in at x.com to see why, and appeal if it's a mistake.
- Daily post limit: try again tomorrow.
- Posting to X is paused for tenfeeds: tenfeeds reached its own X usage limit. Nothing was posted. Tap Retry later, or post it on X.
- X signed tenfeeds out: connect the account again. See Reconnect an account.
